Happy New Year

Well, here we go again, another 12 months of work, study, love, pain, tears, laughter, hunger, thirst, hangovers. And you know what....bring it on, love it. It defines us as a race, ok one that makes mistakes, but in the words of Victoria Wood 'we'll probably blunder about, buggering it up like everyone else' so true. Just looking at some pics from a holiday i had at my friends house in Cork, its the pic il publish after this. I took it on the morning when i was returning to my home up north. I took this listening to Sigur Ros 'The Nothing Song' and Salt Tank 'Eugina'. It was early morning in the summer, the air had that lovely hazy summer smell, with a hint of the salt from the sea. The town hadnt woken up properly, i felt like i was the only one alive, there wasnt a sense of lonliness, but an almost sense of complete being. I will take a video of the morning sometime in a couple of weeks, as i will be going there for a week of good food (my friend got a side of venison from the butcher so we intend to stuff ourselves) i will make one of my lasagnas and mac'n'cheese; lots of alcohol (he just got some fine wines delivered!) and a plethora of movies from funnies to horror! and probably due to the weather being shit, we dont intend going anywhere very far! only into Cork city for some shopping. I took my Christmas decortations down on the 28th, couldnt be bothered looking at them anymore, that may sound really Scrooge-like, but to be honest, for me it ends on the 25th evening, the dinner thing has been done, you're vegged out in front of the telly watching the Christmas special of Doctor Who and drinking a glass of wine, trying desperatly not to fall asleep! and really wanting to go home and watch whatever dvds family have bought for you. My exams start in a week...EEK! but at least il have the trip to look forward to after it. Right im off to consume a pot of coffee and get some revision done (not too much though, it is New Years Eve after all!)

Equality???Diversity????

Merry Christmas everyone (first and foremost) anyone offended by the word' Christmas' cause its not Muslim, Hindu, Pagan, something else, Buddhist, erm, whatever else, people who worship frogs in a forest or something.....didnt think so, even though the government of the uk would have us believe if we speak we offend someone, OH PLEASE UK WISE UP! Its funny here in Ireland, all the wierdo DUP politicians (those who scream like spoilt children about anything that isnt white, protestant and heterosexual) are trying to block legislation for equality for gays and lesbians, jumping and using the 'christian moral' bandwagon. But what they dont realise is that people know exactly what its a scapegoat for, equality for all, it means they would have to talk to and be kind to everyone, including blacks, polish, roman catholics, jewish, gays. Using the homosexual debate, trying to enforce it with the bible (dont make me laugh! i study it for uni, and they are talking utter shite or conveniently leaving out big sections that dont suit them!) Get a grip Northern Ireland and the mainland UK, noone gives a fuck if you have a Christmas card on your desk. People who 'sue' because they are offended are lazy good for nothing, selfish, work shy bastards, they only want money for nothing. Hope they enjoy it before they die and get reincarnated as a dung beetle (oh sweet justice!) ITs all going a bit over the top, at least there will be a turnaround at some point when everyone just realises 'what the fuck are we all gettin worked up about, oh nothing at all! lets just get on with living, working, helping those in need, playing and enjoying the world!! thats the important thing' ah, roll on those days!
Anyhoo, have a fantastic Christmas, Yule, Winter Solstice, Hannukah (however its spelt lol!), and every other religious/supernatural celebration that y'all have this time of year, eat lots, veg in front of the tv, be with people you love, drink til you giggle unccontrolably, smile, cry, laugh, be silent, say a prayer, a spell, an affirmation, whatever makes you happy. Just enjoy yourselves and be kind to the world.

Hearts and emotions

Evening, just home from a good day at uni. lectures were really good fun (its was all Art History today) and got to catch up with my very dear friend Aaron. Have missed him a lot, hes great to be with, talk to, have a laugh with. We had some drinks in the Students Union, the Parlour Bar, then hit the library for some books, then the Globe bar, where we sampled some more whiskey and bourbon...lovely! Must have a good food and drinks night with Aaron and the boys, and make one of my world famous lasagnas - they rock! Anyhoo, its getting on here and i have some 1 night loan books which im going to have a look through with a glass of wine.

The thought of waking up and thinking of that person every morning? when you stop in the street and have a thought about him, for apparently no reason whatsoever, but realise that you have to call him, text or email? love is...locked away in the apartment for days, just 'being', like that song from Snow Patrol (guys from my home town!) 'if i just lay here, would you lie with me and just forget the world...' see, that to me is perfection. Yeah relationships have the ups and downs, but is that not just getting to know the person, to live in their space, understand their habits, how you meld together. I realise that even with this 21st century bigotry thats moved with fundamentalists, we can all get really angry about it.....but then theres the one emotion that we forget that is the most important thing in the world...scratch that, the universe. LOVE. If a God or gods exist/s, then love is the most incredible, important, powerful gift that we as seemingly insignificant mortals have been given. Freakin governments

Ok thats it, time to being the armageddon....hello? powers that be? yeah im kinda wondering when you're gonna kick the asses of the government here in the uk, and especially the (i laughingly use the term) politicians in northern ireland. Acting like a bunch of spoilt little shitty brats 'im not talking to him', oh please, get over yourselves you lazy good for nothing, fat, selfish, spoilt, pompous, self righteous wankers, no one gives a shit about any of you, as you refuse to actually do any work (hey, for £35,000 a year, then £15,000 expenses on top of that, you must be laughing all the way into your nice secure warm home...bastards. ah well, at least theres the old saying to keep a bit of comfort 'cant take it with you'. HA!) And now the water bills, well we already pay for it in our rates, but England has decided that we need to pay more.....err.....why so you greedy capitalist bastard scum can take more money away from our already skint wallets? oh yes, and they will exploit the poor, or as they describe us 'rock bottom' on the finanical status. Hmmmm, does that apply to us poor students as well? WATER IS A HUMAN RIGHT NOT A GREEDY CAPITALIST PRIVELIGE. I have made a vow. If i cannot pay my water bill for some reason and they try to cut it off, i will get the country's press to my house with tv cameras to film and broadcast my live de-hydration and subsequent death on tv. and my dying wish will be for all the government greedy bastards to enter damnation, a curse on their bloodline. Sorry, i really need to get this off my chest. I cannot believe how money obsessed our government is. new bills every month and year, yet wages do not increase at a necessary rate. Another thing which is really grating my cheese......religion and humanity. yeah, i study theology at uni, but looking around the world, all i can see is a group of fundamentalist freaks growing in numbers attempting to do what Adolf Hitler did and suppress/kill minorities. If this is the supposed 'christian God' then it does not exsist, it is nothing but an excuse to kill, inflict pain, feel superior (in a very insecure way). In some way i do wish the end would come soon, and those wierd fuckers will realise on the moment of death 'oops, we were wrong' (tough shit you fucking wankers). Colour of skin, Sexual orientation....it does not matter! when are you bigoted assholes going to get your heads around the fact that we ARE ALL HUMAN. so arrogant the human race, thinking they are so superior, yet when i look at the animal kingdom, i see a more cosmopolitan way of interaction than humans, bombing and shooting each other (erm, just remember, only 1 earth here, you destroy it, you've destroyed yourself...frickin dickheads!) Seriously, if Tony Blair and George W Bush (freedom of speech, dont whinge at me) would actually pull their fingers out of their butts and LISTEN to the human voice, not the stupid, prejudiced 'christian moral terrorists', then they would realise...oh, fighting a war is destructive, not constructive after all (even though it will all boil down to oil and money, surprise surprise, a government being greedy....fancy that!) Push the peace loving, humanitarian people too far, and you will have a revolution. Perhaps not a violent revolution, but still we will speak up.
Right, im suitably miffed. Out of cigarettes (this is not good) so am going to go make my dinner and watch some crap on tv.

My first blog on here

Well, its a cold saturday afternoon in Ireland, im sitting with a cup of tea and a ciggie, trying to fathom what to put on here. Let me introduce myself, Im a 31 year old mature (laugh now) student at University in Belfast, Northern Ireland. I study Theology and History of Art. Interesting stuff to learn, as long as it gets me a good job at the end of the day. Im gay, out to family and friends, have a great circle of gay friends here and across the water in England. I enjoy good food, cooking, red wine, whiskey, bourbon, swimming ,walking, art, reading, film - horror; romantic; comedy; art house (erm, isnt that just soft core porn?!). I have a dog, hes mad but the most adorable wee lad in the world. Thats all i can think of at the moment, i shall write more when i feel really creative, or like i need to get summat off my chest.
